An Intermediate-level Enneagram Study with The Reverend Canon Gus Boone, trainer.

Holy Scripture teaches that we are made in the image of God. Perhaps you may be like me, wondering how to access the innate qualities inherent in such a gift from our Creator. The Enneagram can help direct us in the search as we continue day in and day out along our spiritual journeys..

The Enneagram is not a spiritual path, rather it is a tool which enables us to access and hold a deeper understanding of our motivations and spiritual gifts, gain knowledge of the ways in which we deflect God's grace without even realizing it and what to do about that, discover the direction in which our spiritual journey is heading, learn skills in self-understanding,  gain insight into our most important relationships, and learn how to develop deeper compassion for other people..

While this model is not magic, in and of itself it is a neat psychological diagram. Unfortunately it can easily become a parlor game: What type do you think he/she is?  Yet, learned as a tool for spiritual growth and self-understanding, the Enneagram can deepen our experience of personal transformation along the spiritual journey beyond such gaming. Learning my psychological type is but merely a starting point for self-discovery. The Enneagram has much more to offer us.

This course will briefly review the basics of the model. The group will explore in some depth the vertical dimension of transformation, the role instincts play in our self-understanding and in enriching our relationships, and practical implications in daily living. Participants will learn a series of daily and weekly self-inquiry strategies for independent transformational work.

While this study is designed for those who have at least an elementary understanding of the Enneagram, newcomers to the model are welcomed.

Tooled For The Journey will meet on two consecutive Thursday evenings:  April 27 and May 4 from 6:30pm until 9:00pm. The training will take place at Trinity Church, Asheville.  Cost for participating in this course is $50.00.   The Rev. Canon Gus Boone is an experienced and professionally trained Enneagram teacher who recently completed the Enneagram training series through the Enneagram Institute.

Please send a check for $ 50.00 payable to CCS (Centers for Christian Studies) and mail to P.O. Box 5978, Asheville, NC 28813.  The registration form may be downloaded.
