Creating a Culture of Peace Training Event

This is an interactive, experiential retreat that helps you explore the nature of violence and non-violence, how social change occurs, and how to build communities of trust to take action.

CCP is a holistic approach to training that empowers participants in the spirituality and practice of active peacemaking in their daily lives.  Trained facilitators utilize a highly participatory, popular education approach that respects and builds upon the wisdom, knowledge and experience of all participants.  The activities include small group sharing, exercises and games, brainstorming, presentations, discussions, role play, music, movement, and journaling.

      With the help of trained facilitators, participants will explore:

The experience and dynamics of violence; The experience and dynamics of active and creative peace-making; Social change & commitment to action; Building and sustaining community; and Prqctical planning for local peace-making events.

Dates: November 30, 4:00 PM -December 2, 2007, 5:00 PM

Cost:   Single Occupancy              $302.

            Double Occupancy            $242.

            Commuter Rate w/meals  $208  

            Scholarships available on a limited basis
